Violet goes for tea at Uncle Sanjean Adamek's to check out the Third Power symbol at his house. He calls it 'the Granier mark', after the builder of the house, Anthony Granier. It certainly looks like the same symbol. What's more, Granier was one of the historical figures named in the Third Power book.

Meanwhile, Kurt notices that Granier's diary is part of the war exhibit at the museum. (Noticing this - in the middle of a date - costs him a pleasant night out.) Unfortunately, the antique diary has very restricted access. Only bona fide researchers and authors can read it - and that ain't Kurt or Violet.

There, he notices the original diary of Anthony Granier - one of the people mentioned in that water-logged book as a Third Power member. As soon as Kurt starts talking about how much time he's been spending with Violet, the date goes cold. Oh Kurt... when will you learn?

Sentinel news in brief: Diana Coh, author of "Granier: A Man for Our Times" and leading Anthony Granier biographer, has added her voice to the protests against the Academy Museum's new exhibit. In a speech to fellow protesters over the weekend, she said: "Anthony Granier helped lift this city out of the dark times and into the light. It is ridiculous that his name should be linked to the conflict in this way."
