The Brotherhood of the Six

Religious group that worships the Cube

This religious cult worships the Receda Cube as one of the physical forms of divinity. Their practices are generally well meaning and generous, though they have a strong proselytizing faith - in other words, watch out or they'll try and convert you. They also have shocking taste in web design.

Council Speaks on Cube, Third Power

The Council delivers a report on the Third Power ('soundly dismantled'), Helena Frye ('immense contributions') and Violet & Kurt ('took the Cube'). Looks like our blogging friends are going to be cleared of any charges, though.

Joyless

Having crashed his car, Caine chases after the delivery truck but it's well out of sight when it disappears off the AQSYS scanner.

He checks out the area where it was last seen - near the Brotherhood of the Six temple - but doesn't find any obvious leads.

Three are found, fourth is missing

Kurt's summary of the evening's work: three of the parts seemed to be delivered as planned, but the fourth went missing - despite the Cube Hunters' best efforts to track it.

AQSYS activated

Kurt switches on the AQSYS hack, giving the Cube Hunters control of hundreds of tiny aerial sensors above the city. As they track the four pieces of tagged equipment around town, he updates his blog to give everyone an idea of the bigger picture.

He, Violet, Caine and Karen are each trying to follow one part by car. Three parts end up at Grand Frederik's station, but the fourth (followed by Caine) suddenly heads south. Caine crashes his car - he's fine - but loses track of the delivery, which vanishes off the radar.

Kurt reports back on the Hesh filesystem password, but is stumped by what he finds in Cyrus Quinton's folder. A coded question: "enter those who know what the builder called men under my star". He asks for help.

Northside Bombshell: Recons Part of Nature Trust

It's revealed that the Recons have been secretly backing a huge property development scheme, to rejuvenate the Old Town. Many other investors aren't happy about the news.

Kindling Held Late

Sentinel news in brief: the Brotherhood of the Six held the ceremony of the Kindling of the Flame at dusk on Tuesday night, following the light blanket of snow that fell in the early hours that morning. This is the latest the Kindling has been since 224, when the first snowfall was on 7th Feb.

(This is the trigger for Kurt's Gillit Road Rendezvous, now next Tuesday.)

Kurt has another failed attempt to woo Sarah, but instead bumps into Violet - who is still rather obsessive about the Granier diary, the Recons and the whole Brotherhood thing. Kurt plays along. In other news, Tippy has turned up in a celebrity column when seen at a rock concert (on a sickday. oops).

Ceremonies

Kurt has been getting a lot of mail from Earth asking about subway stations and ceremonies involving flames. (All this was prompted by the secret message hidden on the Viard album released on Earth by Hesh Records. It accused Detective Helena Frye of being a Third Power agent and offered more info at a rendezvous at Gillit Road subway station, sometime after 'The Kindling of the Flame').

Anyway, Kurt doesn't know what started all this, nor does he know anything about religious ceremonies. He suggests contacting the Brotherhood of the Six.

(Pietro's maze revealed several secret files, including some that were protected by personal questions connected with his life and loves. Sister Golda might just give away some useful info in her eulogy.)
