Miranda flees Perplex City, but is forced to travel on foot. Kurt survives an exploding building and chases the elusive fugitive from town to town.
Violet is torn. She wants to help, but she knows that Kurt's single-minded pursuit of Miranda is unhealthy and, most likely, dangerous. This cannot end well...

She lives! Scarlett posts for the first time in ages.
It's a public post, so she's stuck to her official cover story about working at an animal sanctuary (and not gallivanting off around Viendenbourg and Anjsbourg, trying to get herself killed). Sente might not be buying it. And it sounds like Violet and Kurt haven't confided in her about Miranda and the whole Cymbalisty murder thing.

It all kicked off at the station. Kurt got there in time to find Miranda waiting on the concourse, infuriated by the train delays (well done, Cube Hunters).
As he approached, she decided to make a break for it, vaulting over the ticket barriers and running onto the platform. She opened an emergency door and clambered onto a train as it pulled away - leaving just enough time for her to hurl a series of threats in Kurt's direction.
What's more, she managed to jump off the train between stops, in the middle of nowhere. Kurt's planning to follow her on foot.

Having reached Ryefield a day ahead of Miranda, Kurt sets about making life difficult for her. He puts up posters of her likeness at the railway station and has a chat with the pharmacist. He also gets his ankle checked out and finds that it's almost entirely healed. Hurrah for the magic ointment.
Now, we wait for Miranda to make her move on Tuesday.

Kurt banks on the assumption that Miranda will need more Oxxypro and will therefore have to head for the nearest town: Ryefield.
As well as a pharmacy, Ryefield also has a major rail junction. And on Tuesday, there will be a firmware upgrade taking place on the rail network, which means the surveillance system will be down. No doubt Miranda will want to take that opportunity to get hundreds of miles away.

Violet gives her version of the argument with Kurt. It sounds like there was some fault on both sides: while Kurt is certainly becoming obsessive about Miranda, Violet was perhaps too flippant in trying to divert his attention with pastries and muffins.
He told her to go home. She wanted to look after him, but if Kurt doesn't want her around, what can she do?
Not even Caine can cheer her up.

Kurt and Violet go their separate ways after an unspecified argument. She heads back to Perplex City while he catches a train to Stone Mills.
In Miranda's first aid kit, Kurt finds a tube of cream which helps his ankle heal much faster. His mental health, though, seems to be deteriorating quicker than ever.

Violet gives us a post mortem on the day's events.
Miranda got away, with a supply of Oxxypro. Kurt managed to hurt himself in the process - so much so that Violet betrayed her feelings for a moment. Only for a moment, though.
And tonight, they'll be staying in Drowsington together at the boarding house. It's almost romantic...

From the audio clips, Kurt manages to track Miranda's progress, heading west out of town.
Moreover, the marathon website has revealed that Miranda (as 'Jean Morgan') ran twice and has a dependecy on Oxxypro, a treatment for a condition similar to asthma. The Auger Park station care package had included some Oxxypro tablets, and because Violet got hold of it, Miranda will be running low. She'll need to find a licenced pharmacist. Which means she'll need to head for a decent-sized town west of PXC: Drowsington.
Kurt's already booked his train ticket.

After a series of sketchy newsflashes, here's the final version of the Sentinel's explosion coverage. Sounds like the building was wrecked. And it definitely sounds like Miranda's place. A gas leak is blamed. There are several casualties, but no mention of Kurt.
The artist's impression is terrific.

Over the past two weeks, Kurt and Anna have been investigating the death of Isaac Cymbalisty - and now they've found the culprit.
Anna got hold of a copy of the restricted 'Ceretin 6 paper', which showed that there was one obvious anomaly in the Ceretin 6 trials. Evidently, someone wasn't taking their medicine.
Then Kurt discovered that the anomaly was Miranda. She'd saved up the tablets and used them to kill Cymbalisty. Miranda realised that the game was up and tried to make a break for it - but Kurt was hot on her heels.

Kurt has a lot of explaining to do. He lied to us. Now he has to back-pedal and fill us in on what he's been hiding.
Miranda told him she had Barrow-Feld Syndrome. Like a gent, he covered up her embarrassing condition, lying about her location when she was supposedly going for an experimental course of treatment at Cognivia - even when one session coincided with Cymbalisty's death. Of course, Miranda was actually on the Ceretin 6 trial, saving up her tablets before poisoning hapless Isaac.
Kurt only discovered this when he used Miranda's login to look for any extra info on the Cognivia website this afternoon. And as soon as he used her login, Miranda was alerted and tried to get out of town.
He doesn't want her arrested - the police can't entirely be trusted - but he has registered Miranda as a missing person, meaning that any sightings of her on public transport will be reported to him. That should slow her down. And when he catches up with her...
